The Restorationists are back, and this time Ravi is constantly seeking what lies beyond the far horizon.

Beyond the Far Horizon (Restorationists #3) by Carolyn Leiloglou, illustrated by Vivienne To. WaterBrook, 2025, 288 pages.

Ravi is convinced that his new family doesn’t really trust him. How can they, given who his mom is? And he’s been betrayed before, so he’s not sure he trusts them, either. Desperate to keep an escape plan intact, he manages to steal a small painting and stows it in his backpack. If he ever gets in a bind, he can simply walk through the painting and escape.

The Restorationists can all walk through paintings! In fact, that’s how they travel, from one painting to another (of the same artist). They museum-hop, in a way, and each has a special skill that adds to a team effort. Ravi is a tracker and can tell who has traveled that way before. For their new mission (including rescuing family members and stopping the nefarious Dorian (head of the distortionists)), Ravi’s skill is essential. But is he really part of their team?

As in all great adventures, the plot thickens and suddenly, danger looms. Ravi plays a crucial role in helping his team survive, and he learns what it means to be trusted by his team. Along the way, he must decide whom he trusts and loves. Trust is risky, though, and Ravi realizes that everyone around him has had to be vulnerable and brave to trust others. Ravi eventually learns to put his trust in the ultimate Friend and Rescuer. And, since each of these volumes includes particular artists, one of my personal favorite artists is featured in this one: Henry Ossawa Tanner.

Bottom Line: Another fun art adventure that focuses on a different team member than the previous ones.
